Mental Health Therapy
A foundation to explore you or your relationships
The purpose of mental health counseling, from the perspective of the counseling professionals at Whole Therapies Collective, is to reclaim personal power, heal wounds, find balance, and deeply understand oneself. Individual and couples counseling require you to be vulnerable, and you can expect that your vulnerability is held with the utmost respect, compassion, and empathy by your practitioner. Although being vulnerable can feel overwhelming and scary, the therapeutic arena helps you to feel safe to do so. In this environment, you will have the opportunity to explore your multifaceted, unique, complicated self; make sense of your past; and feel more confident in your future.
No “fixing”
A misconception is that you can go to a therapist and be “fixed.” Therapy is meant to help make shifts, adjustments, create harmony, but not fix you - because you don’t need fixing!
This is your journey
You are the driver in this journey toward vibrant health - not your therapist. Your therapist will be in the passenger seat next to you, maybe doing some navigating but mostly just cheering you on. Because we are not contracted with insurance, we are not limited to a fixed number of sessions. You may meet with your counselor as often and for as long as you feel is helpful. Further, each therapist has evidenced-based tools and approaches they are most inclined to use in their work. However, as you present with unique needs and personhood, you can expect that your therapist will be implementing what works best for you.
Ultimate privacy
Unless you become a danger to yourself or others, nothing you share will leave the therapeutic space. Counseling is a place you can dive deep without hesitation, as this is not only a fundamentally non-judgmental space, but also a completely secure one.
Qualified provider
At Whole Therapies Collective you can trust that the practitioner of your choosing is certified by the Washington State Department of Health to provide services.
Non-pathologizing approach to wellness
This is another reason why we don’t contract with insurance, as they require a diagnosis to cover services. We are not here to pathologize, label, categorize or judge.
True self-care
An uninterrupted 50 minutes just for you to focus on your needs, your thoughts, your experiences, your pain, your joy. Therapy makes time just for you.
